From May 5-9, 2026, the Police Academy in Szczytno hosted Prof. Chris Eskridge from Lincoln University in Nebraska, USA. The visit was a continuation of the long-standing academic and educational cooperation between the two institutions and an opportunity to deliver a series of lectures for students of the Faculty of Security and Legal Sciences.

Professor Chris Eskridge has been visiting The Academy regularly since 2006. Over the years, his visits have become an important part of it’s academic traditions. For nearly two decades, he has actively supported the development of international knowledge exchange, bringing students closer to the specifics of the American criminal law system and the functioning of law enforcement agencies in the United States.

The professor’s stay began with a meeting with Gen. Dr. Agata Malasińska-Nagórny, Commandant-Rector of the Police Academy in Szczytno. The discussion focused on the further development of international cooperation, joint academic initiatives and strengthening ties between the two universities.

The program of the May visit included lectures entitled “The Law of Search and Seizure in America / Witness Protection and Immunity Law” and an open lecture “Capital Punishment. The American Experience”. Both events were met with great interest from students and academic staff alike.

Professor Chris Eskridge also conducted classes on organized crime and functioning of various legal systems. Particular attention was drawn to presentation of Asian cartels, the activities of American law enforcement  agencies, and issues related to witness legal protection.

The Professor’s extensive academic and professional experience, supported by years of international activity , gives his lectures exceptional merit. At the same time, his direct manner, openness, and sense of humour make his meetings with students and staff not only inspiring but also highly engaging and full of positive energy. Professor Eskridge is able to seamlessly combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience, which is why his lectures attract great interest and remain in the memory of participants for a long time.

The visit of Prof. Chris Eskridge was not only a valuable academic and educational event, but also a reaffirmation of the lasting and long-standing relationship connecting the Police Academy in Szczytno with the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
