As a result five Ukrainian students and a supervisor are staying at Police Academy in Szczytno for an Erasmus+ traineeship from April 12th to 24th.

From April 13 to 17, the students of our Academy took part in an International Week at a Lithuanian Police School in Mastaičiai in Kaunas. The trip took place as part of the Erasmus+ exchange programme and provided an excellent opportunity to expand knowledge and gain practical experience related to the functioning of services responsible for public safety.

The training programme included both theoretical and practical classes. Participants had opportunity to become familiar with the Lithuanian Police education system and also they took part in lectures on, among other things, the use of coercive measures, tactical medicine and road safety. An important element of the programme also included sessions devoted to special operations and cooperation between services in crisis situations.

The trip was organised as part of the Erasmus+ programme.

During their stay in Pamplona, the students had a unique opportunity to learn about the structure of the uniformed services in the Kingdom of Spain, the scope of their duties and the methods used by these units. During the placement, the participants spoke with staff from ‘traditional’ criminal investigation departments, such as those dealing with drug offences, juvenile crime and organised crime. Visits to departments specialising in policing in the province of Navarre – dealing, among other things, with separatist movements and bomb disposal operations – also proved to be a valuable experience. Such a wide-ranging programme enabled participants to gain an insight into the specific threats facing northern Spain, linked to the historical activities of the terrorist organisation ETA.
