As part of the International Cadet's Week 2025 organized at the Lithuanian Police School in Kaunas on 14-18 April, 2025, students from the Police Academy in Szczytno had the opportunity to learn about the training and educational system for Lithuanian police officers. The program included a visit to the Kaunas Police Station, where the functioning of the command center, notification system and procedures for conducting search operations were presented.
Another essential point was a visit to the Lithuanian Anti-Terrorist Operations Unit “Aras,” during which the recruitment and training system of the unit's officers, equipment and the range
of international cooperation were highlighted. The students also visited the Lithuanian Police Forensic Research Center in Vilnius, learning about its structure, activities and technologies used. The visit broadened the participants' awareness of specialized operational activities and international cooperation.
The practical part of the undertaking included intensive training, including driving privileged vehicles, tactical medicine and workshops on tactics and techniques of intervention. During the undertaking, the conditions and rules for the use of direct coercive measures, including those using electrical energy (tasers) were discussed. The young people also participated in shooting training and performed joint patrol duty along with Lithuanian officers, which allowed them to practically apply the knowledge and experience they had gained in a real service environment.
Participation in the international event organized by the Lithuanian Police School allowed the participants to gain valuable knowledge and practical skills in modern training and operational methods implemented in the police services of Lithuania. Direct acquaintance with the functioning
of the Lithuanian officer training system, visits to operational units and forensic laboratories made it possible to compare and evaluate similarities and differences in service organization and procedures between Poland and Lithuania.
Practical training in tactical medicine, driving of emergency vehicles, intervention tactics and principles of using direct coercive measures significantly contributed to the development of participants' professional competences.
The entire event confirmed the relevance and effectiveness of the Erasmus+ mobility program in improving the quality of uniformed services and building a European security community.
